Welcome to Social Studies!

I have been a lead learner since 2008, and have been at Mobridge-Pollock since 2016.

I am the lead learner for Middle School Social Studies:

• 6th Grade: Ancient World History

• 7th Grade: Geography

• 8th Grade: US History to 1900.

Within our classroom, we utilize various applications to make connections to the past, from paper note-taking to digital presentations.

We collaborate with those in the room and those from other classes; sometimes, these classes are from around the world. We learn about others throughout different time periods and cultures and how locality impacts the humanities.

We seek to have critical examinations of primary sources, through annotations, document-based questions, secondary sources, and building on previous knowledge.

When I'm not in the classroom, I'm busy working on my pedagogy for modern learners. I enjoy gaming, reading, movies, and spending time with my family and friends and my four crazy cats.
