K-8 Dean of Students
Hi, my name is Jody Kludt. I am in my 10th year with the Mobridge-Pollock School System as the K- 8 Dean of Students. In the course of my day I wear many hats. My main responsibilities involve classroom guidance lessons for K-5 students. Individual counseling sessions with students as requested by parents and teachers. I teach a Middle School Exploratory Class called It's My Future. In this class I we talk about character, coping skills, job skills, financial planning, drug and alcohol education, social skills and relationship building. I help with daily discipline issues in the Upper Elementary and Middle School. I have an afterschool kindness club called L.I.L.A. (Love Is Louder Always) for Upper Elementary Students. I help facilitate the Backpack program sponsored by the Mobridge Ministerial Association. Through this program students can receive a backpack each Friday with healthy snacks and easy to cook food. A couple years ago I opened the Clothes Closet. I have received donations of clothing that I keep for students in need. I also supervise second grade computers and lunch duties.
I was born and raised in Huron, SD. I graduated from Huron High School. I graduated from the University of South Dakota. While I was in college I worked at Our Home, Inc in Huron. The was a residential program for teenagers. I was a social worker for the Dept. of Social Services for 8 eight years and then I returned to working in residential treatment. I worked at Our Home Inc. as the family services coordinator and then I was the Assistant Director at the Sacred Heart Center in Eagle Butte, SD. I worked for Northeastern Mental Health as a Clinician before starting my job at Mobridge Pollock School.
