My name is Mrs. Jessica Jahraus. I am looking forward to a great year! Kindergarten is a year full of fun, learning, and excitement.
I grew up east of Mound City on a farm and attended K-12 in Eureka. I then went to Northern State University and obtained my BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood and a Kindergarten Endorsement. Teaching and working with young children is a passion of mine.
This is my twentieth year teaching. I've taught second grade, junior kindergarten, and kindergarten. All 20 years have been with the Mobridge-Pollock District.
My husband, Dustin Jahraus, sells crop insurance for Farm Credit Services of America. We have five children. Ellie is a junior, Jeremiah is a freshman, Isaiah is in sixth grade, Sophie is in fourth grade, and Katie is three. This year we have a bonus daughter; our foreign exchange student, Julia who is a junior. We live on a small acreage and have sheep, pigs, chickens, rabbits, cats, and a dog. We also have a big garden.
I love spending time with my family. We keep busy attending all of the activities that the kids are part of. I am also active in my church and a leader of a local 4H club.
